Parts list:

Rain barrel (free and way up), 2 screws ($1.00), flexible drain ($2.00),concrete blocks ($2.00 each), metal cutting saw, drill, screwdriver, and a level.

Step 1: Select a sight.

You need to find the right location to put your rain barrel. Most people tend to place them near the back of the house or garage.

Step 2:  Level the base.

Some people just sit their rain barrels on the ground, which works just fine. But a good tip to know is that the higher the barrel is off the ground, the more pressure you will have. We really like these solid concrete blocks for our base. Make sure to use your level on this one.

Step 3: Where to make your cut.

Place your barrel against your selected down spout and hold your flexible drain against it to mark where you need to make your cut. Make your mark dark enough so you will be able to see it.

Step 4: Make your cut.

Take your saw with your metal cutting blade and cut where you have made your line. Be very carefull to not cut into the structure behind it.

Step 5: Attach your flexible drain.

Simply slide your flexible drain into place on the end of the down spout. Take your drill, and drill 1 hole on each side of the drain. Now, take your 2 screws and screw them into the 2 holes that you just made. Now your drain is securely attached to your down spout.

Step 6: Congratulations.

You are now ready to lower your water bill and water all of your plants for free.
